FileZilla is Awesome!

I hate ftp-ing things from Dreamweaver. I know it’s not that hard, but I always manage to either ftp the wrong thing or ftp everything.

FileZilla is great. You can see all of the folders at your local site and your remote site right beside each other. It’ easy to see if your file ended up where it was supposed to and just really simple to use. Not to mention it’s a great way to upload your website files if you aren’t using Dreamweaver at all.

Here’s what it looks like:

Enter your ftp host and your login at the top. Everything on the computer you’re using will be under your local site, everything on your website host will appear right next to it in your remote site.

You can navigate through your files like you would normally in explorer or finder. Drag any files you want to send to your remote site into the queue at the bottom. Make sure you have your destination folder open in the remote site window. When you’re ready to send, click Transfer > Process Queue. You  can move files from your remote site to your local site the same way.

P. S. Like Tiffany said before, when you go to download FileZilla, make sure you download the client and not the server.
