Extracting the audio from a YouTube video:

So you found a video on youtube and for whatever reason you wish you had an MP3 of the audio track? Have no fear, it’s incredibly easy to do so.

First find the video that you wish to remove the audio from.

Notice the URL  on the right is highlighted. You are going to need ot copy the URL.

Next go to this website: http://www.video2mp3.net/ Once you see this load:

Stop the browser from loading any further. Sometimes it redirects you to some other site and it’s incredibly infuriating to navigate away from it. However, this is the best website I Found to do this process, and have used it countless times and it hasn’t disappointed.

Next, past the youtube video URL into the “Video URL” box and select convert. After a “Please Wait” message and a “Grabbing Video” message appear and a counter ticks up to 100%, you should have a screen that looks like this.

From here you can download the MP3 file from the link mentioned, or wait 20 seconds and a download box will apprear, prompting you if you want to save a file. When you select save, it downloads the file into the “downloads” folder usually found in your “My Documents” folder or your “User” folder. If you cannont find the file, you can open up the miniature downloads window (If using firefox) and right click the file, selecting “Open Containing Folder.” If you cannot do this, search your computer for the name of the file and see where your computer put it for future use.

And you now have an MP3 of said youtube video. From here you can do whatever you want with it, like editing it Soundbooth or whatver to perfect the quality of it. Keep mind mind copyrighting issues and all that other mind boggling stuff when doing this.
