How to embed a video to your website using youtube

One way to embed your video is through youtube.  To begin, you need to set up an account with (the option to do so is located at the top right of the website and says “create account”).  Once you have created an account, you can then upload a video by clicking the “upload” button located at the top right of the website in yellow.  You will be given the opportunity to browse video files on your computer to upload.

Then, go to the web page that features your uploaded video.  After that, look at the gray box located on the right side of the web-page (in this example, I am showing the results for a Girl Talk song that is on youtube).

youtube example

This box contains the users name who uploaded the video, the url address and the code to “embed” the video onto your site.  Copy the code.  Once you have copied the code, you can open up Dreamweaver (or whatever coding program you are using) and paste it.  There is no additional coding you will need to add.

On your site, the video will appear in a box that looks similar to the video play-back box on youtube as seen below:

This code will not center the video for you.  If you want to center the video, you will need to add a <div id> to the code and then center it using your CSS sheet.
