Fun with Javascript

In order to make things a bit easier with my final project, I used a bit of javascript to make some popups. Don’t know who else would care about such a thing who doesn’t know already, but there’s a really awesome generator that you can use for making any type of popup you could ever want.

You need the url/filename and let me take a moment to plug tinypic for storing pictures – super easy, free, and goes a long way toward avoiding cluttering your space with a ton of pictures. Anyway, take a look yourself but you can choose a bunch of different parameters: toolbars and scrollbars along with location, status, and menu bars, whether you want it to be resizeable, how wide and high the window is, whether its opened by a button link or automatically, and if its centered on the screen. So easy! I suppose some people might call it cheating, but you can just study the resulting code yourself if you really want and it saves a lot of time.

Of course, if you want to hide your links like I did, then all you need to do is have a text-decoration: none; in the CSS, but we all knew that.

Anyway, a little late for this semester, but have fun and experiment if you feel you ever need to get quick javascript in the future.
