How To Manually Link an External CSS Style Sheet to Your HTML File
Although programs such as Dreamweaver will link your style sheets for you, I was using a basic text editor, so I had to manually link the files. Here's what I figured out: First, you will need to have the HTML file (htmlExample.html) you are planning on applying the CSS to and the CSS file (cssExample.css). Within the header area (<head> </head>) of your html file, you use the <link> tag as shown below: <head> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="cssExample.css" /> </head> It's as simple as that! No pictures necessary. Don't add anything to the top of your CSS style sheet. The link tag above takes care of everything. The final step is to upload both files to your directory, and there you have it.
