HTML: Referencing folders outside of other folders

As a website is written, it grows and grows. As a website grows, the need for organization increases, but there is more to organization than putting things together where you know where there are. There is a technical side of organization. Below is a walk through of how to reference different folders from a single html page:

This is the basic way to embed an image, with the image and the html page in the same folder

If the html page is inside the folder that the image is in, use “../”

If the html page is inside a folder that is inside the folder the image is in, use “../” twice

Opposite of the above examples: If the image is inside of a folder within the folder that the webpage is in
