Fade In Fade Out Using Audacity
If you’re like me you don’t have constant access to Audition. While I prefer working on major things in Audacity sometimes I just need to do quick things that don’t warrant a trip to the library. That’s where Audacity comes in. For those who don’t know Audacity is free to download and while it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of Audition is certainly is still very handy. One thing it’s good for is working on fading.
Fade In/Fade Out
Audacity uses pretty much the same principle as Audition when it comes to fading.
You select the part that you want to fade in/ out.
You then go to Effects and select either Fade In or Fade Out depending on whether your want the sound to gradually come in or go out.
Fading it important for smooth transitions and they prevent abrupt halts in the piece.
