Making a Machinima Part 2: Getting the footage you want
If you are recording in World of Warcraft, there are a couple of small things you can do to make your machinima look professional.
First, we need to hide your action bars and other nonsense. To figure out how to hide your interface, go to your key bindings tab. There, map it to a key you don’t use very often and is not likely to be accidentally hit. I chose Ctrl+c.
But here’s the catch: If you hide your interface, how are you supposed to wave and laugh and make other gestures? The answer is simple: Macros.
Yes, you will have to make macros to make your character do what you want. But this isn’t difficult: Simply go to the macros tab, and start making them – all you have to do is write /lol for laugh or /yes to nod. I made about six on each character and mapped them to my major key bindings so I could just press them back to back and get all the footage I needed.
