What was Hard to Understand – Priest “If an activity occurs at the periphery of the organism…it will carry an exogenous indication” (Pg. 49)

This serves as an expression of how feeling is felt with the notion ‘organisms are the center of activity. Feelings take two forms: exogenous and autogenous feelings. If the feeling occurs outside of the organism, where it is dealt with quickly and has no internal effect it is exogenous. But if the feeling is impactful and affects the core it is autogenous and will be felt ‘as a mental state.’
