Adding Hover Text To an Image

What I am about to tell you may seem simple but it is incredibly impressive.

When you add an image to a website through HTML, you simply type in the source, the alt text, and the height and width you want the image to be. It looks something like this (I also have a header displayed on mine):

The webpage looks like this:

But there is so more you can do! I know when I go to a website and hover my mouse over an image, I am very impressed when text appears. You can make that text appear.

All you have to do is add to the <img> tag. Before you close the <img> tag, add “title=theTextYouWantToAppear”. The words you put after the equal sign will appear when users hover their mouse over the image.

So, for the image I showed above,  I am going to add the hover text “look at this!”. The HTML will look like this:

Which makes the webpage look like this when you hover your mouse over the image:

Enjoy impressing everyone you know!
